Life Lately - I've Finished University!

Life Lately - I've Finished University!

If you're a regular reader, you'll probably have noticed that I've been quite quiet on the blogging front lately. I've just finished my final year at the University of Leeds and it's been manic since handing in my last assignment, so I'm sorry for neglecting my little space on the Internet. There were several end of year events to attend - like the Leeds Ball, which was great fun - plus there was the dreaded house clean and move out of our rented accommodation. (This one took slightly longer compared to previous years because I had to do it through watery, tear filled eyes.) Then it was back home to Berkshire for only a few hours before heading to Gatwick to catch a stupidly early flight to Marrakech on Monday morning.

To celebrate/mourn the end of our time at university, about thirty friends and I rented a villa for a week that's 20 minutes outside of Marrakech city centre. We stayed at the Taj Omayma and boy, was it heavenly. Most days were spent lazing around the enormous pool, playing table tennis and reading books, while the evenings involved a lot of food and drink. Some people went quad biking and trekking around the mountains, and I managed to spend an overcast afternoon wandering around Marrakech's souks where I of course picked up some argan oil. The city centre wasn't half as chaotic as I expected it to be, so I instantly fell in love with the place and I'm desperate to go back soon. The food at the villa was incredible and even after a week I don't think I'm sick of a good tajine. Yesterday morning we said some more teary goodbyes at Marrakech airport and went our separate ways, sad to be leaving both the villa and the company. It's a surreal feeling to go from seeing people literally every day to not knowing when you'll be seeing them next.

Now I'm living with my parents again for the indefinite future (oh boy) and I need to start thinking about what I want to do with the rest of my life (again - oh boy). I recently received all of my module marks back and found out I'll be graduating in July with a First, so I'm pretty chuffed about that! All those long, tiring hours of watching Downton Abbey for the sake of a dissertation actually seem worth it now. I start an internship at a PR agency in central London fairly soon so that'll keep me busy over summer, but I really do feel like I've come to an end of an era. Sob sob.

Sorry for the long and rambling post, but there's been a lot happening in my life lately! What's been going on with you?
