Album Review: Sia - 1000 Forms of Fear

Sia 1000 Forms of Fear Album Review

Sia seems to be all over my Twitter feed lately and getting a lot of well-deserved love for her latest album, 1000 Forms of Fear. Breathe Me was one of the main contenders on my angsty teenage playlist back in the day and it still never fails to move me, so I was intrigued by what she had to offer a decade later. I bought the album a while ago with very few expectations, but after a couple listens I was impressed. She’s definitely taken a more produced and pop-py route than her previous albums, but this one is an absolute treasure trove of singles still waiting to be released.

Bobbi Brown Sparkle Eyeshadow in Smokey Quartz

Bobbi Brown Sparkle Eyeshadow in Smokey Quartz
Bobbi Brown Sparkle Eyeshadow in Smokey Quartz

I already mentioned this little number in my January Favourites, but I thought I'd give it more of an in-depth review so you can see it in action (on my hand, anyway). Bobbi Brown's Sparkle Eyeshadow in Smokey Quartz is a cool toned, greyish brown that I find suits my pale complexion. I normally shy away from very sparkly shadows in fear of looking like my former Year 7 self - but fear not - Bobbi Brown have really impressed me with this one.

A Trip to Yorkshire Sculpture Park in Photos

Yorkshire Sculpture Park - Henry Moore

Yesterday I had the pleasure of visiting Yorkshire Sculpture Park near Wakefield, which is about a half hour drive from Leeds. It's an enormous open-air gallery situated on an old country house estate and features work from the likes of Andy Goldsworthy, Henry Moore and Antony Gormley.

Pancake Day: Protein Pancakes

Myprotein Protein Pancakes

Guys. It's Pancake Day on Tuesday. Everyone's favourite day where you eat the same thing for breakfast, lunch and dinner and no one can say anything about it. This year, however, I thought I'd mix it up a bit and go for something to complement my steadily emerging active lifestyle - protein pancakes.

Recent Empties

Recent Empties

It's rare for me to use up all of a product before I get bored of it and leave it sitting in a drawer for the next 4 years, so I know that when I've finished one up it means I must really like it. Here's a look at what I've managed to empty in recent months.

5 'Do's for Working More Productively

5 'Do's for Working Harder

It's been a good 18 or so years, but I'm just about reaching the end of my occupation as a student. While this fills me with feelings of spectacular fear and dread, it's also interesting to reflect back on the years and see how my work ethic has progressed, particularly since the tender age of 16. I like to think I'm a hard worker, so I decided to collate some of the main tips I tell myself when work's gotta be done. As an arts student, most of the work I deal with comes in the form of big fat essays, but these are some general 'do's I like to follow that can also be used in the face of exams and life beyond education.
