Now Playing / 3

Now Playing / 3

I feel like there's been a tonne of great music out lately that I can't stop listening to. There's no theme to this month's Now Playing except that they're all relatively recent songs, or have featured on recently released albums and are some of my favourites. I'm always looking for new music to listen to so if you've got a favourite song lately then please let me know in the comments below!

This funky little number from 1974 has had a popular resurgence thanks to Guardians of the Galaxy's opening dance scene. I dare you to listen to it and not start dancing yourself. Also if you haven't seen Guardians of the Galaxy either then I highly recommend it - it's got one of the best soundtracks for a sci-fi superhero movie with a raccoon in it I've ever heard.

While the music video for this song has been getting some considerable attention lately, I can't stop listening to the song itself. It's a moving and hypnotic co-production between Sia and Diplo and Sia's voice is simply phenomenal.

We all know and love Uptown Funk, but this other track from Mark Ronson's unreleased album is pretty great too. Remember Shake Ya Ass? Well Mystikal is the rapper behind that tune and he's also featured on this Ronson track that's hip-hop-meets-James-Brown. I love it.

I've had this song on repeat since the beginning of last summer and I still can't get enough of it. It sounds like it'd fit right into an episode of Made in Chelsea (in fact I'm pretty sure it made it into one?) because it's a little bit indie, a little bit electronic. It's easy listening with some catchy piano chords.
