L'Oréal Color Riche Mono Eyeshadow in Over the Taupe

I've heard good things about L'Oréal's eyeshadows so I was keen to try one out for myself. Being bold, daring and adventurous, I opted for the nude shade 200 Over the Taupe, which is a beautiful all-year-round neutral that's not too warm and not too cool.

I was immediately impressed by the amazing pigmentation, which makes it a dream to layer up and build upon. I love to do a light sweep of this all over the lids and along the lower lash line for a really easy everyday look. This, unlike liquid eyeliner, is foolproof and actually looks good when smudged so it's always the preferred option when I'm half asleep in the mornings. The formula is so creamy that it really feels like a cream eyeshadow once it's on the lid, meaning it blends just as easily. I was worried that this would then mean it would be prone to creasing, but I've tried and tested it and it lasts for several hours and even longer with a primer on beforehand.

The one negative I've heard is that these monos just love to shatter, but I've had mine for over a month and all looks good (so far). But at £5.49 per eyeshadow I'm not sure I'd be too worried even if it did begin to crumble! Have you tried or want to try any L'Oréal eyeshadow monos?
