January Favourites

January Favourites

Forget January blues - I've been absolutely loving this month. After a mad essay cram in the week after New Year, I got some time to relax up in Scotland before heading back to university to start my final semester. The dissertation is really moving into motion and I'm seriously appreciating every single second spent with my friends before we all graduate and turn grown up (sure) and head off in our different directions. I've also been on a bit of a health kick that's left me feeling great. But it was also a great month because I found some of those products that make you want to kick yourself for not finding sooner, which I'll give you a quick rundown of now.

L'Oréal Color Riche Mono Eyeshadow in Over the Taupe. I gave this a full review here, but trust me, I have not stopped wearing this since I bought it. It's turned into an everyday staple because it lasts so well on the lid and under the eye, while still being ridiculously easy to apply and blend.

NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Sex Machine. I need to buy the whole Velvet Matte Lip Pencil collection ASAP. Already a big, big fan of Cruella, I opted for this one as it's a more natural shade that I could wear in the day time. It's a beautiful pinky nude that matches the natural colour of my lips and lasts for ages.

NUXE Reve de Miel Lip Balm. The sub-zero temperatures have done a number on my lips and a while ago I asked you all on Twitter what your favourite lip balm was. 'NUXE NUXE NUXE' was everyone's answer, so I gave it a go and yes, you were all right! The beeswax-heavy formula means it's quite thick to apply in the day, but one layer before bed leaves me with amazingly soft lips by morning.

Bobbi Brown Sparkle Eyeshadow in Smokey Quartz. Ok, this might look very similar to the L'Oréal eyeshadow, but they're different I swear. This cool toned brown eyeshadow is packed with large, bronze/silver sparkles so it's great for the evenings and really makes the eyes stand out. I'm not normally a fan of sparkly eyeshadow but there's something about the chunky glitter in this that I just love.

Higher Living Green Tea Chai. I'm a bit erratic when it comes to drinking herbal tea (my kitchen cupboard is all the proof you need - who knew you could get 20 different flavours of chamomile tea?) and I switch flavours all the time. Since discovering this, however, it's pretty much all I drink. It's even replaced my daily cups of regular tea. It's a deliciously warming mix of green tea, orange peel, cinnamon, cardamom and cloves and it tastes divine.

So there's a round up of what I've been using on a pretty much daily-basis this month! What have you been loving this January?
