Time for my very first tag!
I love to have a nosey at people's answers to tags so I'll have a go at
answering my own in case any of ya are interested. Like everything else in the blogger world right now, the
theme is Christmas. Thanks to Ashley who tagged me, and I tag the lovely Kayleigh and Jessica. On with the questions!
Favourite winter nail polish?
This is a tricky one seeing as I change my nail polish about once a day
all year round, but I'm gonna say anything dark. I really love Maybelline's Forever Strong in Midnight Red because
not only is it a gorgeous deep red, but it also lasts for ages with minimal chipping.
Favourite winter lip product?
My lips shrivel up at this time of year so you'll never see me without
some sort of lip balm. It might have a funny name, but Dr Lipp's Nipple Balm for lips is a godsend because it's so thick and perfect for applying right
before bedtime. It's exactly like Elizabeth Arden's 8 Hour Cream except without the
pungent smell and in a handy size for pockets.
Most worn winter clothing piece?
I have this Zara coat that's basically a duvet with sleeves and it replaces every
single other coat I own once it gets to November 1st. It's waterproof, has
fleece lined pockets, detachable fur on the hood and about a million ginormous
pockets. Talk about functional!
Most worn winter accessory?
My tartan scarf from Urban Outfitters is definitely my favourite
accessory because it adds a bit of colour and pattern to my boring all
black/grey outfits (which I'll never stop wearing), as well as adding a bit of
warmth.
Favourite winter scent/candle?
This is, without a doubt, John Lewis's Winter Spice Candle.
Not only does it look amazing, but also it has an incredible warm and spicy
smell. I love lighting it while I'm working on essays to stop me from stressing
out and I’m pretty sure it’s been working!
Favourite winter beverage?
Mulled cider all the way! Actually I'll drink anything alcoholic in the
holidays. Or warm. I also become quite the tea addict at this time of year, but
I'm not sure if that's because of the season or because of the mounting number
of essays I have to write before January.
All-time favourite Christmas movie?
I'd say Love Actually,
but I watch that all year round because it's a top-notch film regardless of the
season. Second has got to be either A Muppet Christmas Carol or The
Grinch.
Favourite holiday song?
I'm always partial to a bit of Bublé in the holidays, but Mariah Carey's
'All I Want for Christmas is You' has got to be my number one simply for
reminding me of the cute little ginger kid in Love Actually. And also
because she looks banging in that red Santa suit.
Favourite holiday food/treats?
My dad makes a killer beef wellington on Christmas Day that
normally give us a good few days of delicious leftovers. Terry’s chocolate oranges
also make a welcome appearance in our home every Christmas.
What is your favourite Christmas decoration?
Does the tree count?? I absolutely love our tree every year, as my
family's a bit OCD when it comes to decorating it and we have ornaments that
are decades old which all mean something to us. I’ll try and take some photos of the
tree and other decorations in the house when it gets nearer to Christmas Day.
What’s at the top of your Christmas list?
I’ve had both eyes on GHD’s new wave wand for a while now because GHD straighteners are amazing quality and I’m
hoping they’ve followed that up with their new curler range. I’m also keen to
get a copy of Adobe Lightroom 5 while I’m still student and it’s a bit cheaper.
I’ve downloaded the 30-day free trial and I'm loving it so far because it edits photos to perfection. The photo above that was taken in dim winter light has been brightened using Lightroom so you can see some of its capabilities.
What are your plans for the holidays this year?
This year I'll be doing lots of
fun uni work, working at my job at Boots, as well as seeing my friends. All of my family (aside from my parents and sister) live in America so I rarely get to see them over the holidays and it can be pretty quiet. Over
New Years I'm going to a black tie 21st that I can't wait for because it'll
pretty much be my first properly planned New Year's Eve ever.
I had fun writing this post and I hope you enjoyed reading it. If you want to do this tag yourself, feel free to do it and say I tagged you, or simply answer some of the questions in the comments below!
