Barry M Gelly Nail Paint in Coconut

Barry M Coconut

This was a nail colour I hardly took off all summer, and now we've got to winter, and, hey look - it's still there! Barry M have really got it right with both the shades and the formula for their Gelly range. Normally lighter nail polishes take 3, 4 or even 5 coats to hide any traces of nail underneath, but this only takes 2. It stays put for ages with minimal chipping, even without a top coat, and it's only £3.99.

Book Review: The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August

The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August

"I was six years old. I was seven hundred and fifty.”

I've gone a bit reading mad lately (..it's my method of guilt-free procrastination) and last night I finished this relatively new novel by 'Claire North' (pseudonym for Catherine Webb) so thought I'd share my thoughts on it.

Harry August is reborn every time he dies, in the exact same place and at the exact same time as he was in his first life. He is not alone in the world and others exist like him, although hidden. In one of his later lives he is warned that the world is ending quicker in each life and he must find what is causing it and how to stop it.

Origins Clear Improvement Charcoal Mask

Origins Charcoal Face Mask
Origins Charcoal Face Mask

Origins have always been a great brand for me. Their Out of Trouble 10 Minute Mask is one of my absolute skincare favourites, but when my pores are looking large and needing downsizing, I like to reach for my Origins Clear Improvement Charcoal Mask. At £23 there are definitely cheaper charcoal face masks out there, but the squeezey tube makes it easy to apply and this stuff lasts for ages.

First of the bunch is this increeeedibly soft hooded luxury dressing gown that the ever-perfect Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has released through Marks & Spencer. If you haven't tried any of her Rosie for Autograph range then I highly recommend you do - amazing quality, beautiful designs, and all fairly priced.

Now Playing / 2

I thought I'd make this a monthly feature on the blog, as music is such a big part of my life and I'm always wanting to talk about it. This month was special because I got to see two of my favourite artists, George Ezra and Jungle, live in a very small venue in Leeds, so I've put them in the lineup for this month.

The John Lewis advert has aired, my birthday's been and gone, and it's already halfway through November. Christmas is officially coming. If you're starting to think about advent calendars for either yourself, friends or family and want something a bit different this year then Yankee Candle's Advent Calendar House is perfect - and at £24.99 it's a reasonably priced offering (I'm looking at you, £250 Jo Malone advent calendar).

Budget Brow Pencils

Rimmel, Soap and Glory and Eylure Eyebrow Pencils

Ah, the age old topic of brows. The amount of different products made for them can be overwhelming to say the least, but I've selected some that are relatively easy to use, have good pay-off and all cost under £10.

Book Review: Gone Girl

Gone Girl

“Friends see most of each other’s flaws. Spouses see every awful last bit.”

So I know I've caught on a bit late, but after a couple of days of intense and obsessive reading, I have finished Gillian Flynn's Gone Girl. Seriously, I stayed up until past 3am last night. Prepare to be that person who won't talk to anyone or do anything until they've finished reading, and also the person who won't shut up about it once they have.
