Soap & Glory Trick and Treatment Concealer

After the glowing review of Soap & Glory's face powder I put up the other day, I thought I'd share with you all why I thought some of their products could be a little 'hit-and-miss'. On that same whim in Boots where I picked up Glow All Out, I also went for their under eye concealer called Trick and Treatment. I hadn't seen any reviews on this before buying, but decided to give it a go. It comes in one shade only (Bright On), which is something I'm normally wary of when it comes to buying makeup for skin.

The yellow tone of the concealer should make it ideal for hiding dark circles, but unfortunately the reason I didn't get on with this was because of how watery the consistency is. If I've got big bags to hide, I want big coverage to do that for me. Even applying layer after layer, the coverage doesn't seem to build and I end up smearing it all over my face trying to pat it in.

Now having said this, I'm someone who wants a thick concealer under my eyes to hide as much as I can. If you're blessed enough to have minor dark circles or want a more natural look then this product is ideal; it contains light reflecting pigments that brighten up your eyes and the yellow tone counteracts minor dark purple circles. And it goes without saying that - because it's Soap & Glory - it's got adorable packaging.

So overall I wasn't too impressed with this one, but that's not to say I'm not a huge fan of some of their other products. Have you tried Trick or Treatment or any other Soap & Glory makeup? What did you think?

  1. That's such a shame it didn't work for you; Soap and Glory can be a bit hit and miss :/ their spf50 sunshield is really good though, i wear it under makeup and it works like a primer :) x

    1. Oh I haven't seen that product by them. I am rather pale so that sounds like something I'd be into!

  2. Great review love the photos! I also have huge dark circles most of the time so I will avoid this. It looks pretty much like a highlighter in that swatch, I find that so weird of a concealer x

    1. Yeah you're right - it is more like a highlighter, especially with the little gold light reflecting pigments. I think it looks good over a thicker concealer because it brightens, but not so much on its own :(

  3. This looks good but it's a shame there's only one shade! Their lip crayons are amazing though. :)
