Estée Lauder Idealist Pore Minimizing Skin Refinisher

Estée Lauder Idealist Pore Minimizing Skin Refinisher 30ml (£40)
This post has been a long, long time in the works! I bought this product back in November and have been using it twice a day, morning and night, everyday since then. Everyone rants and raves about Estée Lauder's Advanced Night Repair Serum and I've used it myself and found it was great for smoothing skin and reducing breakouts, but thought I'd give the less-hyped Pore Minimizing Skin Refinisher a go.

It has a texture like a serum - so somewhere in between a gel and a cream - and you only need a small amount to get the full effects. At first I was using 2 pumps but I quickly learned that just one is enough to cover your whole face. It dries almost instantly on the skin and makes skin feel baby smooth and shine-free, making it a perfect pre-foundation primer. I found it had the same effect as using an exfoliating glove but without the hassle and harshness on the skin.

However all in all I think my expectations were too high so I was left feeling a bit disappointed. It hasn't done much for any breakouts I get and, while it's good, £40 is a lot of money for 30ml of product. My nose is the area which has benefited the most and pores have been reduced - but they are still visible on closer inspection. It's a shame to say it because in all other reviews I've read people are seriously in love with this, but I doubt I'll be repurchasing it again and instead I'll try more of the Advanced Night Repair Serum. Have you tried this product? Did you find it worth the money?

  1. I love my ANR and really want to give this ago but at £40 if it doesn't work for me it'll be an expensive mistake! xx
