No7 Protect & Perfect Day Cream and Night Cream

No7 Protect & Perfect Day Cream and Night Cream

I've always had a sore relationship with moisturisers because my skin is not the simplest combination around. I constantly battle between skincare for oily, combination and dry skin, trying to perfect the balance. Putting moisturiser on oily skin always feels backwards to me but I've been told again and again that it's 'absolutely necessary'!

So far the only moisturisers I've found that manage to control the oiliness yet still clear up the dry patches too are No7's Protect & Perfect day and night creams. This is my second set of pots but I had the last ones for ages - you only need a small amount of moisturiser to cover your whole face and neck. Both glide on smoothly but don't absorb very quickly so you're left with a bit of a grease-face for a while... Great if your skin's extra thirsty but I recommend waiting a little bit before putting any makeup on after!

The smell of these is pretty pungent though. It's a strongly perfumed, chemical smell which I'm still not used to. The night cream is a lot thicker and more gel-like so I only use this when my dry patches are extra bad otherwise it does make my oily skin worse. The next morning I always wake up with a firmer, smoother face and as an added bonus any breakouts are normally reduced too. It sounds very very cheesy but it really does leave you with a glow.

    1. Thanks! Is Clarins available? I'd say a similar alternative is Clarins HydraQuench Cream which is just as good but a bit pricier! x

  3. I love the No7 moisturisers as I have oily to combination skin myself. I didn't use this one however, I used the one that is for oily to combination skin, but agree with the review. Seems like it's quite similar to the one I use
    Nice post :) x
