Jemma Kidd I-Glamour Define Eyeliner

In Elle this month they're being generous and handing out a free Jemma Kidd eyeliner with every magazine (alongside a gorgeous front cover of my one and only girl crush, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley).

Because I subscribe, I didn't get a choice of the colour so wound up with 02 Copper. I'd only tried Jemma Kidd's brushes before which I found a bit coarse, so was excited to try out some of the makeup for free. I normally veer towards soft kohl pencils so unfortunately found this eyeliner a bit of a challenge when it came to using it on my eye. I kept pressing and pressing and, compared to kohl, it was so difficult to get anything to show up! However for some reason it showed up ridiculously easy on my hand in the photo above.. Either it's Sod's law or I'm really bad at putting eyeliner on. The 'handy smudging tool' on the reverse end of the pencil is really high quality so that was a nice surprise.

Overall I probably wouldn't have bought this myself because it is so difficult to apply well. The pencil also creates odd clumps in certain places, particularly around eyelashes. Having said this, I am actually a big fan of the colour even though I'd normally stay away from a metallic pencil ... quite possibly something to do with how when I was 13 I'd only wear blue glittery eyeliner.

  1. I got it in black, I really like the copper colour. I am confused as to do how I sharpen it as the casing around it seems to be rubber? just with a normal sharpener? :)

    1. Sorry for the veeerryy slow reply! I actually gave up with this extremely quickly and only attempted sharpening it once. It definitely didn't sharpen as smoothly as a regular pencil (another one to add to the list of negatives...) x
